This week as some of you probably already know, i read flowers for Algernon. This part of the book was probably most about his downfall. His IQ starts to go down. And something that i found amazing was how fast he went up and got smart and also the rate that he went down and how fast he got worse again. I don't really want to give too much away but he goes through a personal, and emotional challenges.
As i said I think that everyone in this class should read it. It is a pretty sad book but it is AWESOME.

This week for my book group i read flowers for algernon. I REALLY like this book. Of course you all know it's about Charlie Gordon who is a retarded person. He goes through a sergrey and slowly starts becoming smarter. Charlie goes through the emotional feelings of realizing the world from a diffrent angle. He starts realizing things like his friends aren't really friends. As he keeps getting smarter and smarter and as he passes the people who made him this way, one of his big problems is that no one is treating him like a person everyone treats him like a lab rat. Also, Charlie and Algernon    become close and you start to wonder if Algernon symbolizes Charlie's inner self........

This is a really good book and everyone that isn't in my book group should read it.

This week I read The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien and it was actually as good as everyone said it was. This book is about a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. Gandalf the wizard shows up at his door after 13 dwarfs have knocked on his door first. Bilbo gets invited to go on a journey. They find themselves in a cave with goblins. Gandalf must kill the chief goblin for the dwarfs not to be killed. Then they try to run for it. Bilbo is dropped and knocked out and when he awakes he finds a creature named Gollum. Gollum challenges him to a riddle contest and Bilbo wins. Bilbo figures out that the ring can make you invisible, Gollum thinks he stole the ring so he runs out of the caves. While invisible Bilbo finds his way out. I don't want to give the whole story away so ill stop there.

This is a really good book and i think everyone should read it if you haven't already.
